Full Court's National Director of Scouting Kenny Kallina serves up our take on the high school athletes who deserve the honor of being named to this year's All American teams. Will the ultimate rosters resemble ours, or will politics raise its ugly head?

Being selected as an All American is one of the greatest honors a high school athlete can attain. Regrettably, at times, an element of politics enters into the selections as adults meddle in the accomplishments of kids.

Here are the young women Full Court Press and its new affiliate, Full Court Preps believe deserve the distinction based on pure merit. We hope for the sake of the players that when the teams are announced for the WBCA All American game and the McDonald’s All American game the rosters closely resemble this one.

Keep posted for updates and analysis once the final selections are announced.

Player Height Pos High School State Commit
Skylar Diggins 5’8’’ G Washington IN Notre Dame
Markel Walker 6’0’’ F Schenly PA UCLA
Tierra Ruffin Pratt 6’0’’ G T.C. Williams VA UNC
Jasmine Hassell 6’2’’ F Wilson Central TN Georgia
China Crosby 5’6’’ G The Center School NY Virginia
Mariah Chandler 6’2’’ F Southwest Atlanta Christian GA Baylor
Krista Gross 6’0’’ G The Cannon School NC UNC
Bianca Lutley 5’10’’ G American Heritage FL LSU
Dara Taylor 5’7’’ PG Caravel DE Maryland
Adia Mathias 5’9’’ G Iroquois KY Kentucky
Jasmine James 5’9’’ G Bartlett TN Georgia
Tamika Willis 6’2’’ F Westlake GA Georgia

The East team is very strong in the backcourt with Skylar Diggins and Dara Taylor, two of the top point guards in the country. This year, there is a dominant 6’6’’ center in the West (with two strong 6’4” back-ups) with no center in the East who can really match her. No question, that’s going to hurt the East in the paint, but the number of strong guards and slashers should keep them in the game.

Player Height Pos High School State Commit
Tayler Hill 5’8’’ G Minneapolis North MN Undecided
Brittney Griner 6’6’’ C Nimitz TX Baylor
Kelsey Bone 6’4’’ C Dulles TX Undecided
Cokie Reed 6’4’’ C Midway TX Texas
Monique Oliver 6’2’’ F Poly CA USC
Taber Spani 6’0’’ G Metro Academy KS Tennessee
Kristi Bellock 6’1’’ F John Curtis LA Texas A&M
Tierra Rogers 5’10’’ G Sacred Heart CA CAL
DeNesha Stallworth 6’1’’ F Pinole Valley CA CAL
Eliza Pierre 5’8’’ G John Muir CA CAL
Jasmine Smith 5’8’’ G Stillwater OK Oral Roberts
Jordan Madden 6’1’’ G East Poinsettia County AR Baylor

For the West, Brittney Griner and Kelsey Bone on the same team is scary. Bone (and Tayler Hill) may be undecided as far as school but there is nothing uncertain about the inside presence of this team. When you can have Monique Oliver as your fourth post player, leave Nikki Green off the team, and suit up 6’1” guards, it is pretty impressive.
